Windy Duathlon Results 9th May

IMAG0057

Let’s be honest, you all looked at the forecast for last night and decided it was better to stay in and watch Corrie.

Well, for 4 hardy souls, that wasn’t an option as they turned out for what was probably one of the windiest duathlons in a long time.

Format was a 1/10/1 with T1 and T2 times incorporated in the Bike split below.

Name 1 m run position 10 m bike position 1 m run position Final time Overall position
Gary Howden 6:29 1st 38:28 1st 6:56 1st 51:53 1st
Richard Perry 7:50 2nd 41.50 2nd 7:49 2nd 57:29 2nd
Charlie Boardman 9:03 4th 40:43 3rd 10.04 3rd 59:49 3rd
Ady Atter 9.00 3rd 46.10 4th 10.20 4th 1.05.30 4th

And we should probably give extra credit to Ady for bringing the run turnpost and signs back with him on the final run leg!

Once again, thanks to Tim for setting out the signs and thanks to Alan, Tracey and Gary M for marshalling. It’s maybe the only time ever the marshalls outnumbered the competitors.

Please note that unfortunately this weekend’s Aquathon has been cancelled since many of the Louth members are away.

Also, the next Duathlon will be May 23rd – it’s a 1/14/1 throw-down against Wolds Vets so your Chairman is expecting a strong turnout from club members.

  1. For the record I wanted to be Marshall but was bullied into doing the duathlon.
