Despite the winter bearing down on us there has been lots of activity this weekend with club members out and about all over the UK. From long Mountain Bike rides on the Lincolnshire Wolds to long runs in the Humber fog and mist, training is obviously still busy! The more notable activities include Paul Thompson’s incredible improvement at the Brecon Beacon Ultra on Saturday, where he finished 24th overall in 8h21m – an incredible 1h38m faster than his 2009 performance. Then, on Sunday, Fin took part in the Yorkshire & Humberside Triathlon trials in Leeds with a 2m24s 200m swim and a 4m30s 1500m run. Fin will find out later this week whether he’s made the squad. Meanwhile, at Loughborough University, 10 year old Jay Clarke was seen towing a sponge up and down the lanes to build up his muscles at the home of British Triathlon.
